This Learning and Reflection Forum from the Leadership Institute on Cultural Diversity and Cultural and Linguistic Competence delves into the role of leaders in getting buy-in and implementing cultural and linguistic competence organizational assessments to enhance their capacity to work with and on behalf of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Viewers will be able to: (1) identify and describe the benefits of conducting cultural and linguistic competence organizational self-assessments, (2) describe four strategies to get buy-in for an organizational self-assessment process, and (3) delineate steps involved in planning for and implementing a cultural and linguistic competence organizational assessment. Viewers are encouraged to reflect on the leadership behaviors and skills needed to implement a cultural and linguistic competence organizational assessment in their respective settings.
